Eleftherios Foulidis, a Makedonian Iconographer, was born in Drepano Kozanis in 1948.
He took his first impressions and practical Art lessons from his father, Theofilos Foulidis, who was a stage designer for the National Theatre of North Greece. Since then, he has been following the basic art techniques from private Galleries and, is recognised so quickly for his natural talent in painting. He took Agiography lessons from Vasilios Gounaris, a student of Photios Kontoglou.
He showed his works (paintings) in personal exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. In his own capital city of Kozani and county he painted over 30 churches and, also, the Folk and Historical Museum of Kozani.
In 1978 he painted with exceptional prototype the private church of Baron Georg von Tauber in Frankfurt, Germany.
Since 1987, where he lives in London with his family, he has been painting the church of St. John the Baptist in North London.
In 1988 he painted the Parish of the Castle Ardorss, which is onw by a Greek, in Inverness, Scotland.
In 1990 he has decorated the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St. Michael in Goldens Green. And he has painted the chapel of Saint Thekla.
Also he has decorated the church of the Twelve Apostles in Kentish Lane, outside London.
One of the his biggest moments was the 'Apocalypse of St. John' presented to the Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos in 7th December 1995, in Alexandra Palace.
He undertook the painting of the 75 years poster of the Archdiocese of Thyateira.
He was awarded with numerous praises and prizes. From 1983, he is a member of the Panhellenic Society of Culture, Literature and Art.
